5th Grade was asked to research and identify issues in the world. I had them place issues into a concentric circle chart to illustrate how that issue affects them. They had to pick one issue to research and complete a work of art about.

I really pushed the students to research facts and current happenings.
Then we started art making. The struggle was how to make symbols and abstract representations of their issues. But, they did well!
A big thank you to Ottercares Grant. We used our innovation center to create the art. Students had to be creative with the use of materials and problem-solve. Most of the materials used are from RAFT.
